Week of 11/8/10

iPrayer Ladies Group

Thanks for taking time out of your day to read over these requests! Thanks to all of you who take a second to email me things you hear or see, I do my best to pass them on! Feel free to forward these along and to print it out to give to those who do not have access to email.

First, a personal note: I should have taken time out to send out an SOS myself last week! Grace came down with Strep Sunday night just as we were finishing Trick-or-Treat! I got her to the pediatrician the next day after she went into chills (before the fever even came on!) and they got us some antibiotics. Then by Monday night I knew I was sick too! I went in to the Kroger Little Clinic and she told me either I had strep too, but it just wasn’t showing up yet, or I was going into a serious sinus infection! Talk about a long week! She and I slept a LOT and took our antibiotics. We are both much better now. The only left-over issue is that the whole thing set off my Vertigo again, so I’ve been really really dizzy! I’ve even been having spinning and rocking dreams! Boats in storms, Hiding in Caves during Hurricanes, etc. Thank goodness for Dramamine II that stops the spinning! Thanks also to those of you who checked in to figure out why I never sent this letter out last week! Good to know someone noticed!

Enough about me, here’s our long list of requests this week!

Father God, we pray that You would hear our prayers for these people who have reached out for Your help. We pray Lord, that You would protect us, and show us how we can honor You. Thank You so much for Your love, In Jesus Name, Amen.

Request #1: Robin – (Tues, 11/2) My niece Faith, age 3, went to doctor to check on breast development, was sent to Kosair today for x-ray & ultrasound. Doctor called and says her ovaries & uterus are the size of someone who had already been through puberty. She has an appointment with a pediatric gynecologist on Friday. Update: (Sun, 11/7) The X-Ray (which was to rule out a dangerous condition that would have been evident in her bones) was Normal! The gyn. sent her back to Kosair on Saturday 11/6 for blood work.

Request #2: Maya is having her surgery on November 10, please pray for her complete recovery and a newly developed wisdom to grow within her.

Request #3: Perry is going to be the next assistant lay director for men's Emmaus walk 137, on March 3-6. Please pray for spiritual protection upon him, his family and loved ones.

Request #4: Emily -For those who pray; please put a few in for my stepmother who lost her older brother on 10/29. He was a lovely person and I know she is hurting.

Request #5: Heather - has a sick child... crossing my fingers that the other three don’t get sick too!.

Request #6: Liz Curtis Higgs - Quick update from the DR! I'm speaking seven times here--to Dominican women, to missionary women, and to American women on a short-term mission trip--and am grateful for each opportunity. "Me basta tu gracia mi Dios." His grace is enough for me. THANKS for your prayers!

Just for Fun:
A little boy was in a relative's wedding.
As he was coming down the aisle, he would take two steps, stop, and turn to the crowd.
While facing the crowd, he would put his hands up like claws and roar.
So it went, step, step, ROAR, step, step, ROAR, all the way down the aisle.
As you can imagine, the crowd was near tears from laughing so hard by the time he reached the pulpit.
When asked what he was doing, the child sniffed and said,
"I was being the Ring Bear."

Week of 9/20/10

Here are the Requests, Praises and Updates for this week!

Please listen to those around you this week on be on the lookout for things we can pray for! Just think, if all 30-40 of us say a brief prayer on each of these....or you may be like some ladies who save them all up and have a nice long sit down with God in the evening! Either way, take a second to cut and paste requests from your facebook, emails, or just write out a line or two and send them to me! :-)

Have a great and safe week!
Let's begin with a prayer together!

Lord God, we just come to You this morning and ask that Your will would be done, even in our prayers, our time spent online, at work, and at home. Please help us to remember these people who have asked for our help throughout our day. Help us to remain prayerful at all times. Bring to mind Lord, all those who You want us to pray for, to speak to, to email, and to call. Let us be Your feet, hands, and voice. Thank You for all you do for us, In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.

Request #1 - Laura - This one is urgent! My daughter-in-law's grandmother, who is 75 years old, went in to the hospital, for a bad blood clot in her leg, two days ago but had a massive brain bleed from the blood thinners to cure the clot..her name is Rita. They live in Alabama.

Request #2 - Stacy- Going to need some prayers on Tuesday. I'm having knee surgery for a torn meniscus. Went to the dr. on Thursday and he wanted to do the surgery yesterday but I had too much to get lined out. Anyway, pray that it is an easy fix and that I recover quickly. Thank you!

Request #3 - Samantha - turns in my cracker barrel application tomorrow..pray if God would allow something to open up..

Request #4 - A co-worker had to leave work suddenly Friday to drive several states away for "A family emergency," which he didn't have time to explain, although he did mention his brother. He called the next day and said that he'd be back in about 4 days.

Update & Praise - Emily - "I Finally got a real and complete night's sleep. It took a cold (sore throat, cough, fever) to make it happen, but that is ok by me. Slept for 18 hours! Then woke up 4.4 lbs less than the day before... can we all say dehydrated? Thank goodness for the PICC cause I was able to fix that in a few hours and two liters of saline." Thank goodness she finally slept more than a few hours at a time, and let's pray that the cold and dehydration will pass quickly!

Original Request:
Emily is having a terrible bout of insomnia! About a month went by with only a few minutes at a time of sleep (10 minutes one night), then finally she started get 4-5 hrs a night, and yes, she's already taking sleeping medicine. She has several other health conditions that make this all very difficult to deal with!

Update and Praise: Cheryl had her surgery Saturday morning and it went great! They said it was just in time! She got home at 8:30pm Saturday night and doesn't even have to go back for a check up until 2 weeks from now! I talked to her this morning, and she is doing really good, except for the expected pain. Thank you soooo much for your quick prayers, (those of you who had time to jump on this one!)

Original Request: 9/17/10 MJ - My Mom found out today that she has to have her gall bladder removed tomorrow! She had been having stomach pains and nausea for awhile, and this past Tuesday she was up all night long with pain and getting sick! Finally today she went in to the doctor, and he sent her to get an ultrasound of her gall bladder. They've kept her overnight.

Update & PraiseSteve had his surgery and feels at this point that it worked a lot better this time. Only time will tell! He is recovering quickly! Should be able to come back to work on the 22nd!

Original Request: Steve is having surgery #3 on 9/9 to attempt to repair a hernia! It's on into "why isn't this over yet?" He has gone to a new doctor, in hopes that it will resolve whatever is going on. He has 1 week left (5 days) of vacation, but will be out of work for 9 work days, 2 of which would be off days anyway, but that's still 2 days he just won't get paid.

Daniel 9:22 He instructed me and said to me, "Daniel, I have now come to give you insight and understanding. 23 As soon as you began to pray, an answer was given, which I have come to tell you, for you are highly esteemed."
