iPrayer 4/26/11 Happy Easter

Hi!

Ok, so I took the month off because it has been crazy busy! Easter was such a blessing and (even though I was running around doing tons of things at the same time) I thought it was great fun! Hope you had a great one too! Did the Easter Bunny bring you anything? :-)

But, the prayer requests don't stop just because we do!

Without further ado (what's that mean anyway).....

Lord God, we pray that Your will would be done, even in our prayers. Let us even pray for the things you want us to pray for. We pray Father that your hand would be on all of these requests, and the many, many we do not know anything about. We want to praise You for Easter. For the time when You have told us the story of Your Son Jesus. Of His death and resurrection. You could easily have achieved our Salvation without us ever knowing it, but You did not. You allow us to know the amazing story and be saved through it. You give us the opportunity to know You better. Keep us safe Lord, and I pray you would bless everyone who reads this, everyone who takes 5 minutes to say a prayer for these people. Hear us Lord, as You always do. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Request #1: Please pray for Janie's father, Jim, who has had a heart attack. She is at the VA Hospital with him now.

Request #2: Focus on the Family: (April 12) Frank Schwendeman, who had a remarkable (miraculous) recovery from serious lung cancer last summer when we all prayed is now in critical condition in a South Carolina hospital because of unexpected side-effects of the radiation treatments he received then.  He is in the ICU of a local hospital there and his progress has been very slow since he was admitted last Thursday. His life too hangs in the balance. Frank has been a tireless pro-life worker in Central Kentucky for decades and is significantly responsible for the large number of pro-life legislators from that area.

Request #3: Focus on the Family: (April 12) This morning, Rep. Dewayne Bunch (R-Dist. 82), a Kentucky State Representative who serves Whitley County and parts of Laurel County, was critically injured attempting to break up a fight between two male students at Whitley County High School, where he works as a teacher. Reports indicate that he sustained a serious head injury.
According to news reports, "Bunch was transported to Baptist Regional Medical Center for treatment. According to Whitley County Schools Superintendent Scott Paul, Bunch was going to be moved to a hospital in Lexington." Ryan Alessi of CN|2 is reporting that Rep. Bunch has since been airlifted to The University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Also See Update Below.

Request #4: We need to pray for Barbara to have healing please.
History: Barbara- She had to have her gall bladder removed (luckily, they were able to do it Laparoscopically) on Monday night. They have kept her in the hospital since then, and said she may have a minor infection, they are doing tests to find out. There is also a concern that she may be having a liver problem, and they have done a biopsy to find out, but do not have results back yet. Please keep her in your prayers. She was sick off and on throughout the holidays as well.

Request #5: From Barbara: Karen is a friend of a family member,She is very ill with cancer, She is asking if you would send her a birthday card as soon as you can.The family needs prayers and LOVE no matter who it may come from. Karen Wehunt 13810 Megan Dr. Justin Texas 76247. Thank You and God Bless You. Love To All Barbara

Request #6: Laura: Oh nooooooooo....woke up this morning with true laryngitis.....a fate worse than death for someone like me. I CAN'T TALK!!!

Request #7: Beth: Frank & the team in Honduras say thanks for the prayers.
Feel free to send me more as you hear them or think of them! I will create another list in the next few days to catch us up again!

Update:  (April 14) A Kentucky lawmaker remains in critical condition on April 14, two days after he was injured trying to break up a fight between two high school students. A statement from Representative Dewayne Bunch's family indicated his condition had not changed at the University of Kentucky Hospital. The statement also thanked the community for support and prayers. Whitley County sheriff Colan Harrell said Bunch, a teacher at Whitley County High School, was punched in the head and fell on April 12. His head hit the tile floor.

Thanks so much for all your time!

iPrayer March 14th

Hi!

It's been too long! Amazing how fast time goes by. Here are some requests for today! But first, let's begin with a prayer together!

Dear Father in Heaven, We pray that Your will would be done. Even in this time that we stop to pray. Let us pray Your words and thoughts after You. Forgive us for our sins, our busy lives, and our distracted minds. Allow us to come to You with these requests today. You are the great Healer. You are the great Comforter. Be especially with all those people who are still trapped in Japan. Those who may be hanging on, waiting for help. People lost at sea, people covered by debris. Let them be found and rescued. Also we want to lift up the families of the many, many who have died. The families who have lost everything. Not just their homes, their jobs, their churches, but even their loved ones. Thank You for being with us, and blessing us, and keeping us safe. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.

Request #1: The first, I'm sure you all have already had on your lists, but I think it deserves our attention anyway. If you have turned on any TV, Radio, or Computer this weekend, you have seen the devastation in Japan following what they are now calling a possible 9.0 Earthquake Friday. Now they are waiting to see if their nuclear reactors will hold up. For More Info Click Here.
Authorities have been pouring sea water into three reactors at the plant after cooling system failures in the wake of Friday's massive earthquake and tsunami, which is estimated to have killed at least 10,000 people. The latest explosion triggered an order for hundreds of people to stay indoors, said Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano. FoxNews.com

Request #2: Christine- My sister is suffering from so much right now. She has arthritis, Fibromyalgia, bipolar disorder, depression, and constant pain, What makes it even worse is that the medications she is taking for all of these cause her to be sleepy, more depressed, and have many other side effects. To make matters worse, she hates the job she has. She loved it at first, but they have reassigned her to do things she doesn't want to, and are never letting her do the parts she first loved. The medicine keeps her sooo sleepy she actually fell asleep at work, and lost even more privileges. Please keep her in your prayers.

Request #3: Samaritan's Purse International Relief- Staff members are on their way to the quake and tsunami affected area. We will be working with Japanese Christians to distribute food, water, blankets, hygiene supplies, and other aid to people who have lost virtually everything. Please continue joining us in prayer.

Request #4: Jeremy- my son madyn is sick and he has trouble breathing he has severe asthma... please send out a prayer to God for him.

Praise #1:/Request #5: Suzanne- Daddy came home from the hospital today! Heart is doing better, pneumonia better, cancer is the thing we are concerned about but he is not in pain, thank you sooo much for your love and prayers!!! Still have a lot of recovery so continued prayers appreciated. We feel blessed. Much love In Jesus

Request #6: Niki- Saturday was great, but I am completely sick of the Saturday night/Sunday morning migraine.

Request #7: Julee Glass Hayes, lifelong friend of Shannon's, passed away on Monday (2/21) evening from pneumonia, after battling the flu for a couple weeks.  She was 34 years old, and leaves behind her husband Carl, and her son CW who just turned five on 2/12.  Prayers are needed for her entire family, including her mother and 3 sisters.  Her memorial service was held on Friday 2/25.

Prayer requests come rolling in!

I told you when we agree to pray, the prayer requests come rolling in! :-) I'm just glad we know that God always answers prayers!

Request #1: Amber - Two emergency room trips in one day ... whew!! I took Landon this afternoon because he was having severe chest pains (that he's been having for 3 days) and he was diagnosed with pluerisy. Got home and Rylan's fever had spiked again (over 104) and it's day 4 of the fever so I took him tonight and he has the flu and a double ear infection. Got them medicine ... now I just need something for sanity. :-)

I looked on www.BibleGateway.com and found several encouraging verses that tell us that God hears and answers our prayers. I thought they might help you today to remember that even though sometimes when we hear these sad stories and upsetting prayer requests, we don't need to throw our hands up and think "well what can I do?" Our prayers DO make a difference. I was especially interested in James 5:15. I would be interested to hear your thoughts on that one! :-)

I left the links that the computer automatically made to go to each verse on Biblegateway, in case you wanted to read more about them!

Have a good one!

MJ

Psalm 17:6 I call on you, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer.

Proverbs 15:29 The LORD is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.

Matthew 21:22 If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”

Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayerand petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Colossians 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.

James 5:15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.

James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

1 Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

iPrayer Week of 2/10/11

Greetings Prayer Warriors!

I was trying to figure out why I hadn't updated the blog in so long, when I realized I hadn't sent you a request list in that long!!!

Gracie had her 4th Birthday on Feb. 1st and who knew planning a tea party for a 4 year old could take that much mental energy! Ok, yes, Robin, you tried to tell me....

Anyway, here are some requests! Now, as usual, I'm sure I will receive a bunch in the next couple of days, so I will pass them on!

Thanks!!! Here we go!

Request #1: (Feb. 1) Robin- From Rosie's Sister: I have been here for 75 days. We came in at 19 weeks for an ultrasound. We found out we are having another girl and that my cervix is dangerously short. They put me on strict bed rest that day, Nov 18, and I have yet to touch my feet to the ground. I will be 30 weeks tomorrow. The baby is developing great, I feel fine and have had no signs of preterm labor. They will let me go home a 35 weeks, March 9, but they are sure my water is going to break before then. We will see. 36 days and counting.

Request #2: Connie- I'd like to share through an email a ministry opportunity in Harlan County, KY: We have a special prayer request for you. Please consider praying for our ministry as we enter into the second of three Winter months where our needs are great. January saw most all of our pantry food given out and we are currently trusting in God for his provision for our next open date of February 17th. With winter heating bills at their biggest ever, food can often take a back seat to the local’s priorities. We expect large numbers of people showing up for food boxes at our pantry. This give us an even greater opportunity to tell them about Jesus and His ministry and the free gift of salvation.

Request #3: (Yesterday at 9:30pm) Amanda- I lost my Granny today. She made it to 93 yrs and 5 days. The passing was a blessing, but she will be missed so very much!

Request #4: Day of Prayer & Fasting: Next Thursday, Feb. 17, The Family Foundation, along with Kentucky Right to Life and a host of ministries and churches, are calling for a solemn Day of Prayer and Fasting on behalf of The Ultrasound Bill (Senate Bill 9). House Leadership has planned to kill the bill at the committee hearing that day and we are challenging all believers to agree with brothers and sisters in their neighborhoods, at the workplace, and at their churches to the end that God would intervene and help pass The Ultrasound Bill. Please pray as you can, with whom you can, and believe that God will move.  (Please reference the story in 1 Samuel 14:1-15 – Jonathan and his armor-bearer.)

Request #5: Amanda- It's official I will be shaving my head March 13th in order to raise money for St. Baldrick's Childhood Cancer Research!!! Go to www.stbaldricks.org to donate to this wonderful cause!!! If you don't find me by name, look for me at the Louisville, Ky 4th Street Live location.

Let's Pray for LOTS of supporters and for people to be inspired by Amanda's decision, and that she's willing to post this (and baldy pictures!) on Facebook for all to see! Let's pray for many blessings on all these brave ladies (and guys)!

Monday, January 31, 2011

Hi!

I know it's been awhile, but what a crazy, snowy, January we've had!!!

I'm wasting no (more) time and jumping right into the requests:

Request #1: From BC- A 13teen yr. old boy who just had a cancerous tumor removed from his spine. the surgery went well they got 90% but he will have to go to Tennessee for further treatment and they are not sure of the outcome because it is a rare form only 9 cases reported in the US. His mother is a brand new Christian and needs our prayers to hold on to the little faith she has right now. His name is Andrew and her's is Regina.

Request #2: From BC- The second one is a couple in Haiti who are missionaries, the wife is nine months pregnant. they have arrested the husband but will not charge him with a crime but they also will not let him go. His name is David and they did not give her name.

Request #3: Cyndi - I got up extra early today....need to be at the hospital at 7am for Alex's surgery. Praying the surgery and recovery goes smoothly. (Tonsils Out today)

Request #4: As Dr. Tackett comments, please be in prayer for our brothers and sisters in Egypt: One of my former students is married and living in Cairo with their two precious children. Another student’s father is on dialysis there and needs to get to the hospital three times a week. She was visiting her brother in Australia when all of this happened and is wrestling with the “terrible worry that rises in my heart” for her family and for her country. This is not a minor situation. The outcome could be even more serious. Please pray that God will protect His children there and that He will bring this to a good end. http://deltackett.com/2011/01/28/praying-for-egypt/

Request #5:Connie- I am attending Dena's funeral today. Thirty-eight is far too young to die. Please keep her children, Karlee Jo and Carson, in your prayers.

Request #6: MJ- Our friend Chris and his family found out that the man across the street from them has broken into their home SEVERAL times and taken lots of things including jewelry and money. He apparently saw them hide a key for a friend, and let himself in. He has confessed to the police. No idea what will happen now, but they told them they should not expect to recover much if anything.

Happy New Year 2011

Happy New Year 2011!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful year! It's been what, 49 hours already? :-)

"Prayer wonderfully clears the vision; steadies the nerves; defines duty; stiffens the purpose; sweetens and strengthens the spirit."  S.D. Gordon

Several Requests and Several Praises!!!

Let's say one together to start out the New Year. You know, I always feel awkward writing out prayers for others to read, and worse when I try to pray over someone else's words. But, since this is a written/read medium, it's the best we can do! So, I'll type as I pray, then you pray your own words as you read. :-)

Keep new requests coming in! I love the ladies who always reply with a blessing for me. I love you ladies who don't too....here we go.

Dear Father In Heaven,
We thank You for this all new, fresh year. It's just the flip of a calendar page to us, but to You, it is all part of the big plan. We ask Lord God, that You would bless our families in this coming year. Keep us safe, healthy, and focused on doing Your will. Life is soooo very busy. Let us not lose sight of Your Truth. I pray that Your Holy Spirit will guide me as I lay down these words, cut and paste these requests, gather these ladies together to Praise You and ask for Your Hand to be on these Requests. Let us Really Believe that what Believe is REALLY REAL. A funny sounding phrase, but a very profound thought. Not my words Lord, but from my heart. Forgive us our sins, forgive us for not living up to Your perfect standards, but allow us to accept your forgiveness by believing in Your Son Jesus. Thank You for all You do and for all You are. In Jesus Name we Pray, Amen

Request #1: Amanda- Paul's Dad has been put on hospice care and they had to travel back down to Atlanta this weekend to see him.

Request #2: (1/2/10) Jessica- I just left the funeral home and I have never been to something so terrible. Seeing baby Will  covered up with his Sponge Bob blanket looking so peaceful. When I left, Libby and Billy were laying on the casket. I felt helpless...what can you say to them after such a tragedy? I hugged them, held them tight and cried with them. I cannot begin to imagine their pain. (Will is age 3, he died of cardiac arrest on 12/29)

Request #3: (12/29/10) Jessica- I am up to THREE lives lost in 24 hours. A friend lost her 3 year old son, Will, tonight to cardiac arrest. Then, Beau lost his battle with cancer last night. And, then there's Sally. I am heartbroken.

Update: Janie's hip replacement surgery went so well, that she went home late this afternoon. Please continue to pray for her speedy recovery w/o complications.(12/31/10)

Original Request: Please pray for Janie who is having a left total hip replacement today (12/29/10) at BHE@noon. Pray the Holy Spirit will comfort and give her peace during this time. Pray for a successful surgery and recovery w/o complications.

Request #4: Denise- is praying for a dear friend who has a rough day tomorrow (Monday, 1/3/11)! Please pray with me!! Thanks!!

Request #5: Shannon- The newly elected Mayor of our 5th Class City, Woodlawn Park (here in Louisville) has had a major stroke, 3 days after he was officially in office! He is very young too. Early 40s.

Praise #1: Samaritan's Purse International Relief Last week we were desperate for medical volunteers to serve in Haiti during Christmas & New Year's. This morning we learned that all needs have been met. We praise the Lord for his provision and thank you for your prayers!

Praise #2: Stephanie- Received the sacrament of BAPTISM today :) It feels wonderful to show my obedience to my Savior and participate in something He himself did as well. To know He loves me just the way I am is such a miracle. Praise Jesus!

Praise #3: Abby- I am so proud of my Lilly! She went forward this morning at church and told David she wants to be a Christian. Thank you Jesus!!
