Request #1: Margaret-
Just wanted to send a few words. Perry has asked me to explain what I know of my Dad's medical status. They have found a mass either above his right kidney in the adrenal gland, or in the kidney. They couldn't determine what type of tumor it was without biopsy, and we decided not to do further surgery to determine the nature of it, because it would be very hard on him. If it is a cancer of the adrenal gland, then he could go very quickly. If not a cancer at all, then he may live a while longer.
The neurologist says he also has Parkinson plus syndrome, because of which he can't swallow, and has aspirated food into his lungs. They placed an ng feeding tube in his nose yesterday so that he could be fed.
He is not totally clear about many things mentally and his hands have been tied to the bed, because he has been pulling out his iv. We know that he didn't want heroic measures taken on his behalf during his end of life, but we don't want to do any harm to him either and are enjoying this time with him. He is not complaining of pain. That is all we know.
Please pray for my Dad, George Sved, and my Mom Dana Sved.
