Happy 88th Birthday to my Grandmother!! A praise for her health and that she is having lunch today with two friends from KINDERGARTEN!! Those are three good friends! :-)
Happy Easter to everyone! Tonight our Wednesday Night Bible Study will be filling Easter eggs and gift bags for the kids to have in the sanctuary Sunday! I got to give my nephew David his Easter candy today!
Oh, and next week is Spring Break!!
Busy time of year! I am including a little of the email I sent out to the parents at church on the bottom!
Request: My Aunt Betty has a major praise and a prayer! This morning she had a section of the skin on her face operated on and we got the report already that it is NOT cancer!! Prayer of course is for healing!! :-) She is feeling nauseated. And also Praise God that her good friend from church can stay in the hospital with her!!
Request: Prayers for Allen and his family as they deal with the loss of his mother. They are with the family now and doctors have said she will pass soon. :-(
Request: Derema's interview went really well and now we wait for multiple "big wigs" in various states to agree that she's amazing, and then give her a big raise!!! (Read: "please pray for good news!")
Request: Suzanne, who we have prayed for earlier in her pregnancy, is due to be induced Saturday if nothing changes. Her husband Charles has the flu!! (Or at least he's very sick!)
He has a high fever, chills, congestion, stomach, etc! Now her little girl is saying her "lungs hurt" when she breathes!!
Please pray that Charles will be healthy enough (no fever) to be with her during her delivery and the rest of them would stay healthy too!!
Oh, and for a safe delivery this weekend too!!
History: 11/30/12 Suzanne- Ok so I am on semi bed rest/restrictions with baby and we are stage 1 abruption with hemmorhaging that basically is a u shaped break down that will not heal, inside placenta wall,Which doctors will monitor every 2 weeks to see that it is not growing larger than it already has. There isn't anything they can do about this but only thing is for me to take easy. FYI- the abruption miraculously healed, which she was told is unusual!
Here's the note I sent the parents (which was attached to song lyrics for the kids who are singing for Easter, lest you think I just live rambling and...oh)
~We are so excited that it is almost Easter!! You know, there is a lot to do between now and bedtime Sunday! But, let's try (sort-of, maybe) to keep something in mind as we rush through this holiday...
Kids can only understand "Easter" in so far as we teach them about "Easter".
They will only understand what they actually see around them, not what we split-second tell them in-the-car-headed-to-stop-#7.
Not that we can actually take them physically to the empty tomb in a week, but...
If we spend the next 7 days rushing around, buying fancy clothes, frantically stuffing eggs, cramming their head full of song lyrics, desperately trying to get everything done and to church on time for breakfast, and then afterwards yell, "HURRY UP AND GRAB SOME EGGS! We've got to get to Grandmas!!!".....guess what they will learn? Well, not "peace and joy" anyway.
Now, that's not to say we can roll out of bed and head off in our blue jean cut-offs to church Easter morning, refuse to bother with Easter Baskets so we toss them some peeps from the gas station, wander in an hour late for church, and make Grandma mad because we forgot her!
But, this year, I am hoping to try to take a few deep breaths, (remind me when you see me) and give Grace a little extra grace, when she has her dress on backwards, and let Thomas have a little moment of down time when he looses his left shoe (again.) And maybe, hopefully, take a second here and there to talk about the real point of this upcoming day! "He is Risen!" "He is Risen Indeed!" :-)
